Brendan Rodgers turns down Liverpool approach

Rodgers rejects Liverpool talks

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly rejected the chance to speak to Liverpool about becoming the club's new boss.

Reports emerged last night claiming that the Merseyside outfit had approached the Welsh club and requested permission to speak to the Northern Irishman about the possibility of becoming Kenny Dalglish's successor.

Despite Liverpool's interest in the 39-year-old, it is believed that Rodgers has rejected the approach from Anfield in order to remain focused on matters at the Liberty Stadium, according to Sky Sports News.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is believed to have been the first candidate to be contacted for an interview with the Reds.
