New Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto has claimed that he wants to reach the heights of Xabi Alonso.
The 31-year-old, who now plays for Real Madrid, achieved Champions League and FA Cup success during his five-year stint at Anfield.
"It would be great to have the same success that Xabi Alonso enjoyed in his time here," Alberto told the club's official website.
"For me not only is he an excellent player but also a real professional who you have to admire because it's something to be proud of that we have players like that in Spain."
Alberto made his pre-season debut for the Reds in a 4-0 win over Preston North End on Saturday.
