Liverpool injury list and return dates for Spurs cup semi-final: Joe Gomez, Dominik Szoboszlai updates

In the second of this week's two EFL Cup semi-final first legs, Liverpool make the trip to the capital to face Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Arne Slot's men are having a sensational season, sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and the Champions League, and they are now just two games away from reaching the first domestic final of the season.

Three Premier League clubs have already been conquered on their run to the semis, and their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month will give them belief of downing another fellow top-flight club, after winning 6-3 here in the league.

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Gomez suffered a first-half hamstring injury in the 5-0 demolition of West Ham United in their final game of 2024, and Slot has since confirmed that the defender is set to be sidelined for a fair amount of time.

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Illness Possible return date: January 8 (vs. Tottenham)

While Slot was able to welcome Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate back from injury at the weekend, he was without Szoboszlai, who was struck down with illness and was not part of the squad, but a return is not expected to be far away.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this game, but Darwin Nunez will miss their next league outing against Nottingham Forest following a booking at the weekend.
