Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City are in 'big trouble' after Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker sustained injuries in the Champions League stalemate with Atletico Madrid.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes his side are in 'big trouble' after suffering a double injury blow in the Champions League stalemate with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker were both forced off as the Citizens played out a fiery 0-0 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano to edge past their Spanish counterparts 1-0 on aggregate.

Speaking to BT Sport in his post-match interview, Guardiola confirmed that both players are injury doubts for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

"We are in big trouble. We cannot forget we played three days ago in a tough game against Liverpool. We have to come [to Madrid] and we have a lot of injuries now," said the Spaniard.

"I don't know what will happen in the next weeks but today we celebrate because it is the third time in Manchester City's history we are in the Champions League semi-finals."

Phil Foden was also in the wars on Wednesday after he sustained a head injury which required a bandage in the 12th minute, following a late aerial challenge from Atletico defender Felipe.

Felipe was later shown two yellow cards, while seven more players and Atletico boss Diego Simeone were booked in the final 10 minutes of the match, which was overshadowed by unsavoury scenes in the closing stages.
