Fortuna Dusseldorf held by Hoffenheim

Fortuna Dusseldorf and Hoffenheim have played out a 1-1 draw in their Bundesliga clash at the Esprit Arena.

The home side took the lead in fourth minute when Robbie Kruse headed home Ronny Garbuschewski's delivery from just yards out.

However, that lead lasted until 39th minute when Hoffenheim restored parity.

Andreas Beck floated in a delightful cross that Joselu headed into the Dusseldorf goal from the left side of the box.

Six minutes into the second half Hoffenheim were reduced to 10 men as Marvin Compper was sent off for a second bookable offence.

However, Joselu could have given the visitors the lead in the 61st minute had his right-footed shot not come off the right post.

Dusseldorf had their chances of their own during the remainder of the match but failed to capitalise on their numerical superiority.
