Arsenal planning £20m move for Wayne Rooney?

Arsenal are reportedly planning a summer swoop for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Recent reports claimed that the England international wanted to stay at Old Trafford.

However, the Gunners are ready to try their luck with a £20m bid for the forward, according to the Daily Mail. The north London club are also unperturbed by Rooney's £220,000 per week wages.

Arsenal appear set to spend big this summer, as Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain edges closer to a £22m move to the Emirates.

The Gunners have also been linked with a £23m deal for Everton's Marouane Fellaini.
