Leicester City 'resigned to losing Steve Walsh to Everton'

Steve Walsh is reportedly on the brink of leaving Premier League title winners Leicester City to link up with Ronald Koeman at Everton.

Leicester City are reportedly planning for life without respected backroom staff member Steve Walsh, who is expected to become the latest to jump ship.

The Foxes, mourning the loss of key midfielder N'Golo Kante to Chelsea on Saturday, could see their head of recruitment depart for a director of football role at Everton.

Ronald Koeman is said to have handpicked Walsh to lead the club's recruitment drive - an identical job to the one carried out during two spells at Leicester when spotting the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Kante.

According to The Telegraph, the 51-year-old is close to making a switch to Goodison Park after emerging as Koeman's top target to join his revolution on Merseyside.

The same report suggests that Leicester are confident current talent spotter Jon Rudkin can successfully replace their outgoing transfer chief, however, and have put the wheels in motion to reshuffle their behind-the-scenes staff.

Walsh, who returned to the East Midlands in 2011 under then-manager Nigel Pearson, signed a new deal at the King Power Stadium in May fresh on the back of the Foxes' unlikely title triumph.
