Phil Jagielka close to Everton return

Everton defender Phil Jagielka is close to returning to first-team action with the club, according to The Mirror.

The 29-year-old has played just two games this year after suffering medial knee ligament damage in January, but will turn out for the reserves against Liverpool on Tuesday.

Republic of Ireland midfielder Seamus Coleman is also understood to be nearing a return to full fitness.

Everton face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.
