Darron gibson claims that he is ready to score more goals for Everton after his vital strike against Manchester City.

Everton midfielder Darron Gibson has admitted that he hopes to score more goals after his match-winning strike against Manchester City.

The former Manchester United player's second-half strike earned Everton a 1-0 win over City and believes that he can add to his tally.

"My last goal was the Champions League semi against Schalke, It was a while ago, I haven't got one for a long time really," Gibson said.

"I'm gradually getting into things now. I think my fitness has a lot to do with that. I wasn't match fit when I arrived, but it's coming. I'm getting fitter and fitter with every game. Hopefully I can kick on from the goal against City."

Gibson arrived at Goodison Park from United in January.
