Sylvain Distin hails Roberto Martinez impact

Everton defender Sylvain Distin praises the instant impact of new manager Roberto Martinez.

Everton defender Sylvain Distin has praised the impact that new manager Roberto Martinez has had on the squad this season.

The Toffees are currently six points off leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table after Sunday's goalless draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

"He is always very positive and honest as well," the Frenchman told the club's official website.

"To be honest it was the same with the previous manager. That is the mentality of the club, it has always been very positive.

"It is great. Even if we get results, we are still adapting to the new style of the manager, the new philosophy of playing."

Everton's next fixture is a trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
