Coleman studies Baines

Everton full-back Seamus Coleman has admitted that he watches teammate Leighton Baines in an attempt to improve.

Manager David Moyes has deployed Coleman largely as a right-sided midfielder in recent times although the Irishman is primarily a defender, and the 23-year-old believes it is Baines who sets the standard for full-backs in the Premier League.

"When I'm not playing games I am watching and I watch Bainesy and try and learn from him," said Coleman.

"For me, he is the best left-back in England and if asked to play full-back, if I could do half as good a job as him that would be great. Right-back is where I've played all my life other than the last two seasons.

"I really enjoy right-back so hopefully I can do a job there when asked to fill-in but I will also be happy on the right of midfield if there is an opportunity."

Coleman was signed from Irish side Sligo Rovers in 2009.
