Englishman Howard Webb will officiate Russia versus the Czech Republic on the opening day of Euro 2012 this Friday evening.
The 40-year-old, widely regarded as England's best referee, has previous experience of major international tournaments.
He has taken charge of matches during Euro 2008, as well as refereeing the World Cup final between Spain and Holland in 2010.
A number of referees will be dropped at the end of the group stages of the competition.
