Colorado Rapids confirm Carlos Vela talks

Colorado Rapids sporting director Claudio Lopez has revealed that the MLS club are currently in talks with Real Sociedad over a move for Mexican attacker Carlos Vela.

The 26-year-old hit 21 goals in 52 games for Sociedad during the 2013-14 season and also managed double figures last term despite struggling with injury.

Vela has only scored twice in the league this season, however, and it is understood that he is keen on seeking pastures new.

"We're already negotiating with Real Sociedad and the player," former Valencia forward Lopez is quoted as saying by Bola VIP.

It is understood that Vela, who was left out of the Sociedad squad last weekend, will cost Colorado in the region of £10.5m.
