Major League Soccer duo step up interest in Leighton Baines?

Everton defender Leighton Baines is linked with Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union.

Everton defender Leighton Baines could still follow teammate Wayne Rooney to Major League Soccer, according to a report.

The former England international was recently linked with Los Angeles Galaxy and Los Angeles FC but, according to TEAMtalk, two more stateside outfits have joined the race for his signature.

Recent reports suggest that Baines is planning to reject a move to California, but Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union are allegedly planning to offer him alternative destinations.

Baines is said to be keen to remain at Goodison Park next season, although Everton have been linked with several left-backs this summer.

Meanwhile, Rooney's move to MLS side DC United is expected to be completed in the next 36 hours.
