Raul Meireles makes Chelsea switch

Raul Meireles has finalised a reported £12m move to Chelsea by signing a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge, just minutes after Liverpool confirmed that he had submitted a transfer request.

The 28-year-old midfielder spent just over a season at Anfield after joining the Reds during the summer of 2010.

It was a case of one in, one out for Liverpool on transfer deadline as the club completed the signing of Craig Bellamy.
