Mohamed Salah swaps Chelsea for Roma

Chelsea have confirmed that winger Mohamed Salah has left the club to join Roma on a permanent deal.

The Egypt international spent the whole of last season on loan at the Serie A side, playing a key part in their third-place finish.

Having failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge since joining from Basel in 2014, the 24-year-old has now departed the West London outfit for good.

Salah, who also spent the second half of the 2014-15 campaign at Fiorentina, scored just two goals for the Blues in 13 appearances.

A club statement read: "Chelsea Football Club thanks Mohamed for his service and wishes him well for the future."

Chelsea have also offloaded Stipe Perica to Udinese for £3.2m this summer, while nine others have been loaned out, including Baba Rahman to Schalke 04.
