Nicolas Jackson has admitted that he was "a little sad" to be leaving Chelsea for Bayern Munich on deadline day after a prolonged saga over his future.
The Senegal international had a contract in place at Stamford Bridge until 2033, yet the Blues had been insistent on cashing in on his services throughout August.
Jackson had been set to complete the formalities of a switch to the Allianz Arena before an injury to Liam Delap threatened to curtail the process, Chelsea eventually negotiating a surprise recall for Marc Guiu instead.
With Jackson now at Bayern on a season-long loan and the Bundesliga champions possessing an obligation to buy should certain clauses be met, the 24-year-old can now focus on becoming a success in Germany.
Jackson comments on Chelsea exit, Bayern transfer
Speaking to Tuttosport, Jackson touched upon his feelings over departing Chelsea far earlier in his career than he would have envisaged, yet he gave the impression that he is concentrating on impressing at his new club.
He said: "Very strong emotions, but not for the reasons you might think. I was simply very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world, to discover another league and other great players.
"At the same, time, I was a little said to leave Chelsea, my teammates, and the fans. I experienced so many strong emotions there: we won the Conference League and the Club World Cup .
"Now I'm 100% focused on my new project and I can't wait to experience the incredible atmosphere at the Allianz Arena."
Jackson also insisted that had no disagreements with Enzo Maresca as he was phased out of the Chelsea project, instead revealing his gratitude for his development under the Italian.
"Football is full of cycles. Sometimes things don't go as they should, and that's part of the game," he added.
"I respect Coach Maresca; I learned a lot from him; he has his own ideas and style. I just needed something different at this stage of my career. I have no regrets, just gratitude for my time at Chelsea."
Jackson facing quick Chelsea reunion
With a Bundesliga fixture at home to Hamburg on September 13, Jackson will hope to make his debut, most likely from the substitutes' bench.
Four days later, though, Chelsea travel to the Allianz Arena for the first Champions League fixture of the campaign, Jackson eligible to face what technically remains his parent club.
