West Ham United are in late talks to sign a Chelsea defender on loan before the summer transfer window closes, according to a report.
The Irons are expected to bolster their defensive ranks with the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion's Igor Julio, who is thought to have chosen to join Graham Potter's side over Crystal Palace.
Igor's decision could have a knock-on effect for Liverpool's pursuit of Marc Guehi, who has completed his Reds medical but has not finalised his move while the Eagles scramble to find another replacement.
As well as poaching Igor from under Crystal Palace's noses, Sky Sports News claims that West Ham also want to take Chelsea's Axel Disasi on loan for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
The 27-year-old has not featured in a single Premier League squad for Enzo Maresca's side this season and will be allowed to leave before the deadline after being relegated to a bit-part player under the new manager.
Disasi is still under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029, and it is not clear whether his proposed move to West Ham would include an option or obligation for a permanent deal.
The centre-back has scored five goals in 61 appearances for Chelsea and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, playing 10 times under Unai Emery.
