Didier Drogba close to completing Shanghai Shenhua move

Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba will be moving to Shanghai Shenhua on a free transfer, the club's owner Zhu Jun has confirmed.

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a switch to the Chinese Super League side since deciding to call time on his career at Stamford Bridge.

Jun has claimed that a deal is in place and it will be finalised but has yet to confirm when Drogba will officially be unveiled as a Shenhua player.

The 34-year-old stated earlier this week that he will announce his next move in due course.
