Chelsea 'to step up Rafael Leao pursuit following Armando Broja injury'

Chelsea are reportedly ready to step up their pursuit of Rafael Leao following the news that Armando Broja will be out for the rest of the season.

Broja suffered a serious knee injury during Chelsea's 1-0 friendly loss to Aston Villa earlier this week, leaving them with only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz as their striking options.

The latest reports have all stipulated that the Blues are looking to sign a striker in January, with one of their targets potentially being AC Milan's Leao.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Leao would cost €80m (£69m) minimum, likely more, but the Blues are 'not easily frightened' by such a figure.

It also claims that the London club are looking at Dusan Vlahovic, Tammy Abraham and Joao Felix, but no moves have been made as of yet.

Leao has seven goals and nine assists for Milan in 20 games this season and has continued to be a key player following his strong performances during their Serie A title-winning season last year.
