Chelsea 'still hopeful of Willian, Pedro deals'

Chelsea 'still hopeful of Willian, Pedro deals'

Chelsea allegedly continue to hold discussions with Willian and Pedro regarding short-term contract extensions.

With their respective deals due to expire at the end of June, it is expected that the duo will leave Stamford Bridge on free transfers.

However, at a time when Chelsea are bidding to finish in the top four of the Premier League table, they are yet to ensure that the pair will see out of the season at the club.

Ahead of Tuesday's deadline, The Telegraph journalist Matt Law claims that the Blues hierarchy are still "hopeful" of reaching a positive resolution.

As a result of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner being unable to represent Chelsea until the next campaign, Frank Lampard does not want to see his squad reduced at this stage.

Willian started for the West Londoners as they defeated Aston Villa by a 2-1 scoreline at the weekend.
