Chelsea lineup vs. Inter Milan: Predicted XI for Stamford Bridge clash

No Palmer before Premier League opener? Predicted Chelsea lineup vs. Inter Milan

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has named Robert Sanchez as the starting goalkeeper in four of his side's five pre-season fixtures, but he did start Filip Jorgensen in goal last time out against Real Madrid on August 7.

In defence, the Blues will be without Axel Disasi, who is not expected back until September, while Marc Cucurella is unlikely to start after returning from his Euro 2024 triumph.

Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile also started at centre-back against Real Madrid, and they could be flanked by Reece James at right-back and Malo Gusto at left-back.

In midfield, Enzo Fernandez partnered Romeo Lavia in a double pivot last time out, though the latter was subbed off in the 58th minute.

Moises Caicedo can be expected to come in for Lavia against Inter, and he will hope to use his ability to receive the ball from the backline in order to help Chelsea progress up the pitch.

Much like Cucurella, Cole Palmer is unlikely to start the game due to his Euro 2024 exploits, and Noni Madueke will almost certainly begin as the Blues' right-winger.

It would not be surprising to see Christopher Nkunku take up a position behind the striker, while Raheem Sterling could start on the left.

Considering that Nicolas Jackson is a doubt for the game due to a sprained ankle, Marc Guiu could start as Chelsea's striker.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Jorgensen; James, Colwill, Badiashile, Gusto; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Nkunku, Sterling; Guiu
