Chelsea willing to let Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard leave?

Chelsea are reportedly ready to let Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard leave the club in the summer in order to free the way for younger players.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to allow Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard to leave the club in an attempt to rejuvenate the side.

Former Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas was determined to instil a new mentality by easing the Chelsea old guard out of the first team and promoting the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Juan Mata.

While interim manager Roberto Di Matteo, who replaced Villas-Boas after the Portuguese coach was sacked, has shown his faith in the experienced team members, it is believed that the Chelsea hierarchy want to focus on bringing younger players to the London club.

It is understood that the former English champions have given Drogba the green light to sign a contract with Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua in the summer, while Lampard will be allowed to join the likes of Paris Saint-Germain or Los Angeles Galaxy if an appropriate offer is made, according to The Express.

Reports have also claimed that Raul Meireles, who moved to Stamford Bridge in January, could also be sold at the end of the season.
