Chelsea snap up Barcelona’s Oriol Romeu on four-year deal

Barcelona youngster Oriol Romeu has completed a move to Chelsea on a four-year contract.

The 19-year-old, who progressed through the academy ranks at Barca, will join up with the former Premier League champions after Spain’s involvement with the U20 World Cup.

The defensive midfielder made his debut for the Catalan giants towards the end of last season, which sparked continued interest from Stamford Bridge.

Romeu has also been known to play in a central defensive role.
