Defender Cesar Azpilicueta says that he and his Chelsea teammates are already starting to 'look better' under new head coach Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has suggested that he has been left impressed by the impact of new head coach Maurizio Sarri.

The former Napoli boss has replaced Antonio Conte in the Stamford Bridge dugout, and the Blues have performed well in each of their opening two pre-season fixtures with Perth Glory and Inter Milan.

Azpilicueta has only recently linked up with the team after time spent on World Cup duty with Spain, but the versatile player has claimed that he and his teammates are improving under Sarri's methods.

The 28-year-old told the club's official website: "It's been really good since the first day. We've been learning his methods and I think the team looks better with every minute.

"We know we don't have a lot of time to prepare for [the new season] so we have to work hard to pick up the movements we want to do. I think we saw a good team against Inter and we have to play collectively to get the results."

Azpilicueta will expect to continue to gain match fitness when Chelsea face Arsenal in Dublin on Wednesday.
