Chelsea vs. West Ham United news: Does Robert Sanchez start? Enzo Maresca makes two changes

Any transfer hints? Chelsea, West Ham name teams for Premier League game

Chelsea and West Ham United have named their first XIs for Monday's Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge.

With a number of players being linked with an exit on transfer deadline day, it was highly unlikely that they would be considered for Monday's squad.

Axel Disasi is arguably the most notable absentee with Joao Felix already said to be in Italy ahead of a move to AC Milan.

Meanwhile, head coach Enzo Maresca has opted to make two changes from the 3-1 defeat at Manchester City nine days ago, including dropping goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Filip Jorgensen has been recalled to take the place of the Spaniard between the sticks, while Tosin Adarabioyo has got the nod ahead of Trevoh Chalobah.

Nicolas Jackson has retained his spot down the middle of the attack, despite his poor run of form, with Marc Guiu named on the substitutes' bench despite speculation regarding a potential loan exit.

How many changes does Potter make on Stamford Bridge return?

Meanwhile, Graham Potter - on his first return to Chelsea since being sacked in April 2023 - has also made two alterations to his West Ham XI.

Jarrod Bowen makes his surprise return from a fractured foot, taking his place in the attack ahead of the absent Lucas Paqueta.

Andy Irving has also been provided with his first Hammers start in the centre of midfield, getting the nod over Edson Alvarez.

Chelsea XI: Jorgensen; James, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson

Subs: Sanchez, Chalobah, Acheampong, Gusto, Dewsbury-Hall, George, Neto, Nkunku, Guiu

West Ham United XI: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Coufal, Kilman, Cresswell, Emerson; Soucek, Irving, Soler; Bowen, Kudus

Subs: Fabianski, Foderingham, Mavropanos, Guilherme, Ings, Rodriguez, Casey, Scarles, Orford
