Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Brighton: Will Romeo Lavia return?

James, Lavia: Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Brighton

Chelsea will be looking to make it four straight wins in all competitions when they continue their Premier League campaign at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues thumped Barrow 5-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night to breeze into the fourth round of the competition, while they have won their last two in the league against Bournemouth and West Ham United.

A strong start to the campaign has seen Enzo Maresca's side pick up 10 points from their opening five league matches to sit sixth in the table, three points behind the leaders Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Brighton, who are seventh in the division and still unbeaten this term.

Reece James

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

James has suffered a setback in his recovery from his latest hamstring problem, and Maresca recently admitted that he was unsure when the club captain would be available for selection.

Romeo Lavia

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: September 28 (vs. Brighton)

Lavia has now missed Chelsea's last six matches in all competitions with a hamstring problem, but the central midfielder is being backed to return to the squad for the clash with Brighton.
