Chelsea pick up £50m prize money

Chelsea have secured a cash injection of £50m after winning the Champions League last season.

The prize money came as the Blues secured a penalty shootout victory over Bayern Munich in May, while the German outfit took home £33m.

Manchester United received £28m despite their early elimination, while Manchester City took around £21m for their exertions.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that revenue for the Champions League could rise 20% over the next three seasons.
