Cesar Azpilicueta targets Champions League success

Cesar Azpilicueta says that Chelsea will "try harder" to win the Champions League next year after their failure in this season's competition.

Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta has said that he is desperate to help the club win the Champions League next year.

The Blues were eliminated at the quarter-final stage of this season's tournament by Paris Saint-Germain on away goals, following a 2-2 draw at home.

That result meant that they exited the tournament without losing a single game and Azpilicueta, has admitted that he is still disappointed.

"Our target is always to win the trophy, but this year we could not do that," the Daily Star quotes him as saying.

"We would like to be there in the Final but unfortunately we are not, so we will just have to try harder next season.

"It is even harder to think about because we did not lose a game in the Champions League this season. It does not help things, but those are the rules and the way it happened."

Chelsea won their only previous Champions League title in 2012.
