Petrov wins Sunday league title

Former Aston Villa and Celtic player Stiliyan Petrov has described the 'priceless' feeling of winning a Sunday league trophy after being cleared of leukaemia.

The 35-year-old scored for Wychall Wanderers to help them win the Central Warwickshire Over-35s Premier Division One Cup.

Petrov, who was forced to retire in 2013, told the Daily Mirror that his latest bone marrow test showed the all clear.

The Bulgarian said: "I am still beside my family and I have managed to play nearly 90 minutes and win a cup, it is great.

"It will go next to my Uefa Cup medal. But it is more valuable than everything else - it is priceless."

During his seven years with Celtic, Petrov won the Scottish Premier League four times as well as six domestic cups.
