Ronny Deila wary of Qarabag FK challenge

Celtic manager Ronny Deila warns his players that they will need to produce their "best performance" to overcome Qarabag FK in their Champions League qualifier.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has warned his players not to underestimate Qarabag FK when they face the Azerbaijani outfit in the Champions League.

The Scottish champions will host Qarabag in the first leg of their third qualifying round on Wednesday night, having overcome Icelandic minnows Stjarnan 6-1 on aggregate in the last round.

Celtic are expected to progress again thanks in part to their superior Champions League pedigree, but Deila has insisted that they will have to be at their best to reach the playoffs.

"Nobody is scared before they come, you have to make them scared through good play in the game. They haven't been there before so that's an advantage for us. We have to play our best performance and then we know we can hurt the other team," he told reporters.

"They have consistency in what they do. They have had the same coach for several years. We know we will face a very good opponent. They do a lot of things that we want to do. They are very offensive, they have good relations in the team.

"That's something we work on all the time to get people to look at each other and find angles on the pitch. And they are good at switching the play. Some things are similar but other things are different. We just have to do the things we want to do better than them."

Qarabag are taking part in just their second Champions League campaign, having been dumped out at the same stage of last season's competition.
