How Brazil could line up against Argentina

How Brazil could line up against Argentina

With just one game to win to retain the title they won in 2019, Brazil manager Tite will stick with his strongest lineup for Sunday's Copa America final against Argentina, having gradually found his best combination of players throughout the tournament.

Their only absentee is forward Gabriel Jesus, who will serve the second match of his two-game suspension for a reckless high-footed challenge in their quarter-final victory over Chile.

They have another attacking star to shine in his absence, though, as Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta has scored the only goal in both of their 1-0 knockout wins to reach the final.

He will support talisman Neymar, who has scored two goals and registered three assists in five Copa America games this year.

Further back, Fred has more than earned his spot alongside Real Madrid star Casemiro at the base of the midfield with some impressive performances up to this stage, and that pair should continue to shield the back four on Sunday.

Marquinhos and Thiago Silva will again pair up at the heart of the defensive line, having kept two consecutive clean sheets to guide their nation through to the final.

They will shield Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, who has been trusted over Liverpool stopper Alisson Becker in both knockout games so far.

Brazil possible starting lineup: Ederson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Silva, Sandro; Fred, Casemiro; Richarlison, Paqueta, Everton; Neymar
