Leon Best, Blackburn Rovers agree mutual departure

Leon Best leaves Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers and Leon Best have reached an agreement to cancel the striker's contract a year early.

The 28-year-old, who did not play a single game for Blackburn last season, is now free to find a new club.

In a statement this afternoon, Blackburn said: "The club thanks Leon for his work and dedication during his time at Ewood Park and wishes him all the best for the future."

The Irishman spent most of last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion and Derby County, scoring once in 33 appearances for the two Championship outfits.
