Former Portugal international striker Nuno Gomes joins Championship side Blackburn Rovers on a two-year deal.

Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of former Portugal international Nuno Gomes.

The veteran striker had been a free agent for a short space of time following his release from Braga at the end of last season.

After holding a number of discussions with manager Steve Kean, the 35-year-old has opted to sign a two-year contract at Ewood Park.

He has become the third player to arrive at Blackburn this summer following the additions of Danny Murphy and Leon Best from Fulham and Newcastle United respectively.

The transfer is subject to international clearance, which Rovers expect to be granted later this week.
