Rovers ended a run of two defeats.

Tony Mowbray described Danny Graham as a "special finisher" after his hat-trick helped Blackburn to a 4-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship.

Rovers looked well on the way to an easy win after a pair of tap-ins from Graham and Bradley Dack put the hosts two up early in the second half, only for Lucas Joao's 62nd-minute screamer to peg them back.

However, Graham once again reacted quickest to notch his second from a rebound soon after, and although David Raya's own goal set up a nervy finish, the striker popped up again to secure his hat-trick and ensure the perfect end to his 100th league start for Blackburn.

It was a first victory for Rovers over the Owls at Ewood Park since October 2012, and after their third win in the last four at home, Mowbray praised the quality of finishing from the 33-year-old.

He said: "They're not easy to score when they ricochet so fast back at you like that. One-touch finishes are really special. Danny is a special finisher.

"I've been in football all my life since leaving school and Danny Graham is as good a one-touch finisher as I've seen.

"I've said to him that I'd like to have had him at 25 – he did it once today, like Usain Bolt, running down the right wing for a spell there, he was flying.

"Graham with his finishing, with his composure in the box amongst bodies to clinically hit the target when he needs to.

"It's great that Bradley has the technique to hit the target, hit the post, or make the goalkeeper work. So many players lash things and they go into the crowd.

"We've got some quality at the top end of the pitch and it was evident today.

"It was a performance we should all be proud of and it's an important three points."

The Owls remain in 16th place but the performance was uncomfortable viewing for the club's fans who made their feelings known about their manager.

It is now just one win in the last eight, including six defeats, and Wednesday have not won in the last four on the road.

But Jos Luhukay said that he will not quit, despite the poor run.

"I heard it, yes, but what can I do with that? I'm also frustrated and irritated, it's not what we like," he said.

"The expectations in this club are high. We are now not living in the past, and fans maybe live in the past from the success, but last season it was also a direction where it was not good enough.

"That's why I came in January and now we sit in the same situation so we must fight against that, and we must believe that we can take us to a better period.

"Now we are in the worst period, I know that. But in my character, it is not that I will give up, but only solve why we didn't get a good result, or why the fans aren't happy with this.

"But I'm also not happy with this, that's why I can understand it.

"It's not nice, but in football there will be periods where you have better results and success. We must have patience for that."
