Blackburn Rovers have issued a statement to dismiss reports that the club is facing financial difficulties.
A report in the Mail On Sunday had claimed that the club - currently a disappointing 19th place in the Premier League - was facing a "financial crisis" and that wages for players and staff were under threat.
In a statement issued on behalf of Blackburn's finance director, Karen Silk, the club said that it "strongly refuted" the story.
"There is no financial crisis, and, there is absolutely no danger to the players' and staff wages," it said. "Amongst all professional football clubs, finances are regularly assessed and reassessed during the season based on performance, income and costs, and at Blackburn Rovers this is no different.
"Barclays Bank and Blackburn Rovers have enjoyed a long relationship over many years and are currently in constructive dialogue about how the bank, along with the owners, can support the club for many years to come."
Blackburn owners Venky's have thusfar stuck by manager Steve Kean throughout his troubled start to the campaign, despite continuing unrest from a section of fans.
