Jan Vertonghen: 'Belgium don't fear Argentina'

Vertonghen: 'Belgium hold no fear'

Jan Vertonghen has said that Belgium hold no fear ahead of their quarter-final meeting with Argentina in Brasilia tomorrow.

The Red Dragons, who are competing in their first World Cup since 2002, edged past USA 2-1 in the last round to set up a meeting with the South American giants.

"We have been confident all tournament," Goal.com quotes Vertonghen as saying. "We believe in ourselves. We are feeling strong physically and mentally.

"Belgium don't have to fear anyone. We have all been looking forward to this tournament. It's all about games like this for us. But it doesn't have to stop here against Argentina.

"We want to put in a great fight and go even further. This is all a reward for our hard work."

Belgium last reached the final eight of the showpiece event in 1986.
