Stefan Effenberg expects Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola to leave next year

Stefan Effenberg believes that Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola will leave the Allianz Arena next year.

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Stefan Effenberg has predicted that head coach Pep Guardiola will leave the Bundesliga champions next year.

The Spaniard comes to the end of his contract in June 2016, and widespread reports have claimed that the 44-year-old is yet to open talks about extending his stay at the Allianz Arena.

Two-time Premier League champions Manchester City are believed to be interested in bringing Guardiola to the Etihad Stadium, and Effenberg believes that former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp would be a decent replacement.

"I am pretty certain that Guardiola will no longer be in charge of Bayern after 2016," Effenberg told Sky Sports News. "Who could replace him? I am thinking about Jurgen Klopp. He is definitely an alternative for Guardiola in Munich."

Guardiola has won five trophies with Bayern since taking over in 2013.
