Joachim Low plays down Barcelona, Real Madrid links

Germany manager Joachim Low has ruled himself out of the running to take charge of Barcelona or Real Madrid next year.

The 61-year-old will step down from his Mannschaft post after this summer's Euro 2020 tournament, with outgoing Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick taking over.

With Zinedine Zidane resigning from Real Madrid for a second time and question marks hanging over the head of Ronald Koeman at Barcelona, Low has unsurprisingly been linked with both jobs.

However, the World Cup-winning manager has affirmed that he will not rush back into management, telling reporters: "I've personally not had any contact with anyone.

"I'm quite clear that I will not take charge of a club this summer. There will not be a change of opinion."

Low has spent the past 15 years in the Germany dugout, winning 122 of his 191 games in charge, but he has tried and failed three times to steer Die Mannschaft to Euros glory.
