Barcelona have opened up a commanding 2-0 half-time lead against Deportivo La Coruna in tonight's La Liga encounter at the Estadio Riazor.

It took the visitors 10 minutes to take the lead as Lionel Messi guided a powerful header into the net from Ivan Rakitic's cross.

Barca continued to dominate for the remainder of the half and they doubled their advantage on 33 minutes when Messi scored again with a smart finish after showing quick feet inside the box.

Isaac Cuenca had the chance to hurt his former club before the break as Deportivo made a rare foray towards goal, but the midfielder could only blaze his shot over the crossbar following good work from Juan Dominguez.
