Marseille agree fee with Aston Villa for Jordan Amavi?

A report claims that Jordan Amavi is free to leave Aston Villa for Marseille permanently next year for a sum of less than £9m.

Ligue 1 side Marseille will sign full-back Jordan Amavi from Aston Villa on a permanent deal for a sum of £8.9m, according to a report.

The 23-year-old made a loan switch between clubs in the summer after talks over a Villa Park exit had stalled earlier in the window.

Amavi made just 44 appearances in his injury-hit two years in the West Midlands, but he has has put that behind him thanks to some standout displays for his new side.

After being called up to the France squad this week for their World Cup qualifiers, L'Equipe suggest that a permanent move has now been agreed.

The newspaper claims that a modest fee of less than £9m is all that it will take to finalise the deal, which will see Villa make a slight profit on the £7.7m handed over to Nice in 2015.
