Arsenal are trying to make further additions to their side before the transfer window closes, according to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

Mikel Arteta has confirmed Arsenal's intention to make further additions to the side this summer.

The Gunners have already recruited Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko in the current transfer window.

Despite spending over £100m on their new signings, Arsenal are still being linked with further additions including Youri Tielemans and Lucas Paqueta, who are currently at Leicester City and Lyon respectively.

Speaking after a 6-0 friendly victory over Sevilla, Arteta told reporters: "We are still hoping to do something else if the market allows.

"You have seen some movement in the last few days as well. We want to get the perfect balance and the plan we wanted from the beginning. Whether we accomplish that or not is another story."

Although he may be keen to add to his squad, Arteta will turn his attention to Arsenal's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on Friday.
