On more than one occasion, the Gunners have been heavily linked with the Ivory Coast international, only for Palace to stand firm with regards to their valuation.
However, given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, the Eagles may be forced to reconsider their stance.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal could be tempted into trying to negotiate a deal for the 27-year-old, who may now be valued in the region of £60m.
With Palace said to be keen on Watford's Ismaila Sarr, there is theoretically a window of opportunity for any interested clubs to press ahead with an offer.
As Mikel Arteta attempts to work with a restricted budget, Arsenal could add one of their fringe players to any proposal.
