Arsenal 'only club' to hold concrete transfer talks with Bundesliga striker

Arsenal are reportedly the only club to have held concrete talks over a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Gunners are looking to improve their squad to push on for the Premier League title following a third consecutive second-placed finish.

Arsenal are set to bolster their midfield options with the addition of Martin Zubimendi, while they are keen to bring in a new left winger.

Mikel Arteta is also determined to recruit a top-quality striker to add to his current options of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

Arsenal are considering Leipzig’s Sesko as a potential candidate to strengthen Arteta’s frontline ahead of next season.

Arsenal hold concrete Sesko talks

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are the only club to have held concrete discussions and negotiations over a move for Sesko. 

The Gunners have held talks with Leipzig and Sesko’s representatives, having placed the striker towards the top of their shortlist. 

Arsenal’s interest appears to be the strongest despite Sesko being linked with Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Gunners are also considering Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and are seemingly yet to decide whether to push for the Sweden international or Sesko.

Sesko's Leipzig career

Sesko has scored 39 goals in 87 competitive appearances since joining RB Leipzig from sister club RB Salzburg in the summer of 2023.

The Slovenian striker scored 21 goals in 45 matches across all competitions to finish the 2024-25 campaign as Leipzig’s top scorer.

Sesko may operate as a central striker, but he also possesses the ability to link up with his teammates outside of the box.

The German club could demand around £75m to part ways with a player who is under contract until the summer of 2029.
