Chelsea injury, suspension news vs. Arsenal: Will Cole Palmer be risked?

Will Palmer return? Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

Chelsea are back in action on Sunday when they play host to Arsenal in a mammoth Premier League showdown before the international break.

The Blues, albeit with a much-changed starting lineup, warmed up for this contest with the 8-0 demolition of FC Noah in the Conference League on Thursday night.

With Chelsea having been held to a 1-1 draw at Manchester United last weekend, that performance may have put doubt in Enzo Maresca's mind as to who to select for this fixture.

Nevertheless, there is one star player who is a major doubt courtesy of the injury that he sustained at Old Trafford.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of welcoming one of their fierce rivals to Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: November 10 (vs. Arsenal)

Maresca revealed on Wednesday that Cole Palmer was still to return to training after suffering a knee injury after a late tackle from Manchester United's Lisandro Martinez last weekend. Although Maresca's latest update on Wednesday suggests that the playmaker is "getting better", he remains a major doubt for this game.

Jadon Sancho

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: November 10 (vs. Arsenal)

Jadon Sancho has not been seen in a Chelsea shirt since being hauled off at half time against Liverpool on October 20. That has been a consequence of illness, ineligibility and a knock, the latter making him a doubt for Sunday's fixture.

Omari Kellyman

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Omari Kellyman has struggled with fitness issues since joining the Blues from Aston Villa in the summer; the attacker remains on the sidelines for this match due to a hamstring problem, and it is unclear when he will be able to return.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no suspension issues heading into this contest.
