United States beat Russia to win bronze in women's team eppe

United States defeated Russia in dramatic fashion to claim fencing bronze in the women's team eppe competition this evening.

After nine individual matches between the two nations the score was locked at 30-30, forcing a sudden death playoff to decide the tie.

Courtney Hurley had priority in the extra period and claimed the crucial point against Anna Sivkova with just seconds left on the clock.

The United States team of Courtney Hurley, her sister Kelley Hurley and Maya Lawrence were jubilant after edging a high-class bronze medal decider.
