Ireland's Mark Rohan picks up handcycling gold in men's individual H1 road race

Rohan wins handcycling gold for Ireland

Ireland's Paralympic handcyclist Mark Rohan has picked up a gold medal for his nation in the men's individual H1 road race.

The athlete crossed the finish line to masses of cheers at Brands Hatch after recording a time of 1:53:09.

Tobias Frankhauser of Switzerland finished the course just behind the Irishman in a time of 1:53:11, while Austria's Wolfgang Schattauer snatched the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, British female handcyclist Rachel Morris won bronze in the women's individual H1-3 road race.
