The West Indies have been skittled for 148 at tea on day one of their first Test against Australia at Roseau.

Josh Hazlewood did the worst of the damage with a 3-33, while his new-ball partner Mitchell Johnson racked up 3-34, and Mitchell Starc took 2-48.

The Windies opted to bat first and went into lunch on 3-85 after losing the wickets of Kraigg Braithwaite, Darren Bravo, and Shai Hope.

The Aussies pressed home their advantage by taking three wickets for six runs as the middle session commenced.

Hazlewood eliminated Shane Dowrich and Jermaine Blackwood in consecutive overs and later held a catch while Starc was bowling.

Denesh Ramdin fell victim to Johnson and Jason Holder was caught at gully as Starc picked up his second wicket at 8-133 five overs later.

Jerome Taylor was removed by a diving catch from debutant Adam Voges.
