West Indies to bowl after winning toss

The West Indies have opted to bowl in their opening ICC Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan after winning the toss at The Oval.

The Windies will be without Darren Sammy, who has lost the captaincy as well as his spot in the one-day international side, while Kieron Pollard has been picked in his place.

After captain Dwayne Bravo won the toss, he said: "We want to bowl first and get the nerves out of the way. The wicket is good so we want to give the bowlers the best use of the freshness."

Meanwhile, Saeed Ajmal, Shoab Malik and Mohammad Hafeez have been chosen as Pakistan's spinners for today's Group B encounter.

West Indies: Gayle, Charles, DM Bravo, Samuels, Sarwan, DJ Bravo, Pollard, Ramdin, Narine, Roach, Rampaul

Pakistan: Farhat, Jamshed, Hafeez, Shafiq, Misbah, Malik, Akmal, Ajmal, Wahab, Junaid, Irfan
