Surrey cricketers involved in serious on-field collision

T20 Blast match abandoned after collision

This afternoon's Natwest T20 Blast encounter between Surrey and Sussex Sharks has been abandoned after two Surrey players were involved in a serious on-field collision.

Moises Henriques and Rory Burns both had eyes on the ball when trying to take a catch in the deep and clashed heads.

Three ambulances rushed onto the field of play at Arundel, and both men are now conscious and being treated at Chichester hospital.

Sussex were at 141-7 in the penultimate over of their innings when the incident occurred.
